Film Notes from a Battery Park Picnic

Shot on film, Battery Park, near the playground

It felt like July had opened its arms.

Katya brought cake, and the city brought wind.

Children ran between the blankets like sunlight.

Late afternoon.

Grass under blankets, cups half full,

kids weaving between grown-up talk.

I shot on film. Slow, imperfect, tender.

Everything slightly blurred. Everything deeply real.

The kind of day that doesn’t try too hard.

The kind that stays.
